Premise

The work is not inspired by any particular shelling per se, it rather stands as a cumulative sequence of abstract sketches discovering the language of decaying condition of Architecture by observing/reflecting on the footage of the russio-Ukrainian war from 19month of the full-scale russian invasion.

The work reflects and questions the state of the ruins in the aftermath of the war, with more and more architectures transitioning into ashes daily the inevitable question is posed - what is the future of ruins?

Workflow

Driven by a preference for systematic methodology, the workflow mirrors the physical destruction of the built environment through a controlled process of digital "pixel decay".

Starting from an initial linear composition, the system cycles through raster line approximation, manual hatching and layering, and point-based interpolation to translate digital decay into the final physical work.

Artwork

Grounded in a systematic approach, the project was developed as a series of three pieces. This iterative framework allows the workflow to be thoroughly tested and refined, opening up new conceptual and spatial possibilities
